The "Mosquito Boat" patch is an early war Disney
design dating to March 1940. The "PT" patch was authorized around
August of 1943 but both designs were worn from 1943 through the end of
WWII.
Officially Designated "Motor Torpedo Boat" The "PT" patch is on wool uniform material and the "Mosquito Boat" is on cotton "summer/tropical whites" material. The PT patch has typical WWII type mesh cotton backing. |
